A 17-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday along with two others for committing a theft at her own house in Mailardevpally in Rajendranagar.

The theft took place on August 3. The other two accused were identified as Mohd Ashraf Khan (19), a resident of Maheshwaram, and Mohd Naseer (21), a resident of Kandukur. The minor was in a relationship with Ashraf and he would visit her house frequently.

The duo decided to elope as her father, Syed Muzaffar, allegedly used to ill-treat her. On August 2, she met Ashraf at Aramghar Crossroad and told him that her father sold a plot and kept some money at home to purchase another property within three days. She suggested a plan to steal that money. She wanted to get married to Ashraf and use the money for their livelihood after they elope.

The next day, as per their plan, Ashraf reached her house by jumping the compound wall. Later, he broke open the locker with the help of a rod arranged by the minor and robbed Rs 22 lakh. She then called her father stating that four robbers slapped her and locked her in one of the bedrooms to rob the money.

Police found about the girl’s involvement in the theft case. They were held from Naseer’s house in Kandukur.
