Special Operations Team sleuths of Rachakonda busted a fake birth certificate racket involving GHMC and Mee Seva workers. Police arrested 13 accused who issued 2,122 fake certificates in three years.

The accused have been identified as Ch Sunil Kumar, insurance agent from Safilguda; B Chandra Mouli, weaver from LB Nagar; B Ravi Kumar, businessman from Meerpet; M Venkatadri, Mee Seva centre worker at West Maredpally; V Ranjith Kumar, worker at Mee Seva centre at Chintal; G Krishna, Jeedimetla Mee Seva worker; M Narayana Rao, Chintal Mee Seva worker; B Bhanu Prakash, computer operator at GHMC Circle 15 office in Chintal; S Kiran Kumar, computer operator at GHMC Circle 18 office in West Maredpally; A Raju, Y Ramakrishna, Ch Babu, health assistants at GHMC

The accused collected Rs.5,000 from each candidate. Sunil, Mouli and Ravi would bring people to Mee-seva centres. There workers would send details to GHMC data entry operators without collecting mandatory details.

Data entry operators would send details to GHMC health assistants and they would allot a registration number to the applicant after entering details in register of births and deaths. The registration number would then be sent to the data entry operator and he would generate certificate and send it to Mee Seva centre from where candidate would collect it within three days of payment.
