Hyderabad, February 07, 2015 : A 68-year-old woman, who was reportedly attacked by an unidentified man in an attempt to loot the house while she was alone on Thursday morning, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Locals, who heard the cries of the woman, came to her rescue and caught the accused and gave him a sound thrashing before handing him over to the police. Police identified him as Rukma Rao, 50, an offender wanted in many robbery cases.

According to police, Lakshmamma, a widow, was living



alone at New Maruti Nagar in Chaitanyapuri area. On Thursday morning, the accused barged into her house posing as a professional coconut tree climber and requested her that he would pluck coconuts and clean the tree. 

Later finding her alone, he demanded the keys of the almirah from the lady and threatened her with a sickle. When the lady refused to comply and tried to protest, he struck with the sickle causing a deep injury on her neck. She was immediately rushed to nearby hospital.
