Son kills father to death in Mancherial, Telangana State

Mancherial (Telangana): A man was axed to death by son following family disputes at Rapalli village in Hajipur mandal on Wednesday.

Hajipur Sub-Inspector Chandrasekhar said that the deceased was Durgam Prasad (40), a father of a Church at Rapalli. The accused was Prasad’s eldest son Pranav Rao.

During interrogations, Pranav confessed to eliminating his father as he was vexed after being pestered by Prasad for being idle. He admitted that he had attacked Prasad with an axe when he was



asleep early in the morning, resulting in instantaneous death for the latter.

Unable to thwart Pranav’s assault, family members informed cops about the incident. Mancherial in-charge ACP Narender and Rural Inspector Y Krishna Kumar visited the spot of crime and enquired into the murder. Prasad is survived by a wife and two sons.

It is learnt that Pranav was taken into custody and was being questioned. A case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
