24-year-old Widow murdered in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old widow, was murdered in Hyderabad.

Ayodha Maheshwari, who was brutally attacked by her in-laws at her house in Imamguda, Pahadi Shareef on October 2 succumbed in a private hospital here on Wednesday.

According to Pahadi Shareef police Maheshwari had recently lodged a complaint with Ibrahimpatnam police against her in-laws, who were threatening to get her 3.3 acre land registered in their names.

On October 2, Maheshwari’s mother in-law A. Lakshmi and sister in-law M. Sarita called her to Imamguda stating that they would



settle the dispute. The moment Maheshwari went there, they thrashed her badly, police said.

Maheshwari was self-employed and was married to Ayodha Sunil Kumar in 2016. Five years later, in 2021 Sunil died due to ill-health. After Sunil’s death, Maheshwari managed to get her husband’s land registered in her name.

Police registered a case of murder and dowry harassment against the accused under section 302 ipc AND 498 (A) DP Act. The victim’s body has been shifted to Osmania general hospital for postmortem.
