Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government has taken many steps in the last three years to promote indigenous manufacturing of electronic goods.He said, the steps include rationalization of the tariff structure with extension of differential excise duty dispensation on specified electronic equipments and withdrawal of duty exemption.The Finance Minister said this during his 6th Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting with stakeholders from IT Group in New Delhi. He said, with an aim to create an eco- system to make India a global hub for electronics manufacturing, the allocation for incentive schemes increased to



745 crore rupees in this year budget. 

The IT sector representatives pointed out that considering some recent protectionist and discriminatory policies followed by other countries, the IT sector needs Government’s help at Policy level to ensure combat visa restrictions issues and to ensure economic interests. 

They suggested to take more steps regarding rationalization of the tariff structure,access for easier fund for Telecom,tax free bond for Telecom and Lowering GST on Telecom services to 12 per cent instead of 18 per cent.
