Demonetised currency worth Rs.96 lakh face value seized in Thane

Demonetised currency with the face value of 96 lakh rupees was seized from four persons in two separate incidents in Thane city adjoining Mumbai. 

According to Thane Crime branch officials, police intercepted a car near Talao Pali area on 25th of this month and found 46 lakh rupees in banknotes of 1000 and 500



rupees during the search of the vehicle.Police said three persons, all residents of Mumbai, were detained; While, in another incident; the police nabbed a biker and seized the demonetised notes with the face value of 50 lakh rupees from him. Police said that income Tax department is probing the incidents further.
