Employees' Provide Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made Aadhaar mandatory for its about 50 lakh pensioners and around four crore subscribers.

Central Provident Fund Commissioner VP Joy said in New Delhi that the pensioners as well as members would have to provide Aadhaar or a proof that they have applied for it by 31st of this month to remain the beneficiary of social security schemes of EPFO.

The central government contributes 1.16 per cent of the basic wages as subsidy to every members Employees Pension Scheme Account in addition to 8.33 per cent deposited by their employers every month.
