In Madhya Pradesh, at least 13 were people killed and four injured in a fire accident at Bagri village of Chindwara district this evening. 

The accident took place when kerosene and food grains were distributed at cooperative society centre in Bagri, which comes under Harrai block.Eye witnesses said the death toll is much higher as people were gathered in a large numbers there. 13 bodies have been recovered so far. 

The cause of accident is yet to be ascertained but it is said that the leakage of kerosene was the reason behind it. 

The district



administration has announced an ex-gratia of four lakh rupees each to next of the kin of the deceased. Injured will be given economic assistance of fifty thousand rupees each. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed minister and in-charge of Chindwara district Gaurishankar Bisen to reach Baagri immediately.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed shock at the loss of lives in the blaze in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. In a tweet last night, Mr Modi said, my thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones in the fire. He said, the incident is shocking beyond words.
