The Ministry of Health and the Turkish Public Health Organization offered thousands of vaccines in southern Turkey this week to the children of Syrian families who have escaped civil war.

3,604 Syrian children have been vaccinated since the campaign launched last week, reports said on Thursday.

Doctors are administering the vaccinations for measles, rubella, mumps, and hepatitis B to children including newborns and up to five year olds in health centers located in the Reyhanlı and Hassa districts of Hatay province.

Within the scope of the

vaccination campaign, the organizations are also trying to raise awareness for their health program by distributing informational brochures in Arabic.

In addition to the health centers, teams are circulating in the streets of Reyhanlı and Hassa to vaccinate the children in their own homes.

I think this should be more specific as offering vaccines to Syrian children is not a big deal in Turkey, they've been doing this for the past 6 years or so.

We could perhaps use this detail in the lead and title: 3,604 Syrian children vaccinated in a week.
