Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday reiterated that his government was committed to the welfare of retired Army personnel.
The government would be setting up a substantial fund for Sainik welfare, the Chief Minister told retired Army personnel from Telangana who met him to express their gratitude for initiating several welfare measures for them for the first time in the country.The retired personnel under the leadership of TRS MP Capt Laxmikanth Rao called on the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan here.
They said no other Chief Minister in the past had even bothered to give them an appointment or listen to their



genuine problems. Stating that he was the only Chief Minister in the country who thought of Army welfare, the retired army men said they considered him a part of their fraternity.
When they raised slogans praising the Chief Minister, he embraced each one of them and personally inquired about their well-being. Retired Army Personnel Welfare Association leaders presented an Artillery Model Gun to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Telangana State Sainik Welfare Director, Col (Retd) Ramesh Kumar, retired army personnel Suresh Reddy, Jagan Reddy, Pochaiah, Francis, Prabhakar Rao, Manohar Reddy and others were also present.
