Deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the Osmania University would get new centenary blocks, academic blocks, hostel buildings and other infrastructure facilities in all its colleges. The President, Pranab Mukherjee would lay the foundation on April 26 for the works being taken up.

Addressing media after reviewing the centenary celebrations arrangements with officials on Thursday,the minister said the state govern ment had allocated `200 crore for the celebrations. He appealed to all students, teachers and alumni to take part in the celebrations and make it a big success.

On students and employees issues, the deputy chief minister said the government was sympethetic to the



concerns of the students and employees and would resolve issues like increasing honororium to contract employees and hike in mess charges.He said a committee headed by former vice chancellor Tirupthai Rao was looking into employees' problems.

Srihari announced that the state government would fill up vacancies in all state universities. He said apart from the President, governor ESL Narasimhan, and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao would take part in the function on April 26, the first day of the celebrations. Maharashstra governor CH Vidyasagar Rao is to attend the alumni meet.An all India vice chancellors' meeting would be convened on April 28 in which union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar would attend.
