Sania Mirza and her partner Barbora Strycova advanced into the third round of the Women's doubles category in the Australian Open. The fourth seed Indo-Czech pair defeated Aussie-China team of Samantha Stosur and Shuai Zhang 6-1,6-4 in the second round. 
In another match, India's Rohan Bopanna and his new partner Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay were knocked out of the men's doubles. 15th seeds Bopanna and Cuevas lost to Australia's Alex Bolt and Bradley Mousley 6-2, 6-7, 4-6 in the second round of the season's first Grand Slam. Their exit puts an end to the Indian challenge in the men's



doubles.
In Men's singles event top seed Andy Murray stormed into the fourth round beating America's Sam Querrey in straight sets 6-4, 6-2,6-4. Fourth seed Stan Wawrinka, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Kei Nishikori and Roger Federer also advanced to the fourth round. 
In Women's singles, World No.1 Angelique Kerber sailed into the fourth round defeating Kristyna Pliskova of Czech Republic in straight sets 6-0, 6-4. Eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova cruised into the fourth round after defeating former World No 1 Jelena Jankovic. Earlier, CoCo Vandeweghe ousted Canada's Eugenie Bouchard.
