In a shocker, Olympic silver medallist shuttler PV Sindhu lost to an unseeded player to exit from the 2nd round of Denmark Open Superseries Badminton Tournament. In the women's singles event, 6th seeded Sindhu lost to an unseeded Japanese player Sayaka Sato 21-13, 21-23, 21-18 in the second round. It was Sindhu's first event after the Olympics.

Earlier, Sai Praneeth in men's singles and duo of Mannu Attri and Summeth Reddy in men's doubles had bowed out in the first round.
