EPFO adds around 17 lakh net members during August 2023

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has added around 17 lakh net members during August this year. Labour and Employment Ministry said that more than three thousand establishments have extended social security coverage of EPFO to their employees.
Among the
newly joined members, the age group of 18 to 25 years constitutes over 58 percent of total new members. The Ministry said this indicates that most of the first-time job seekers are youth joining organised sector workforce in large numbers.
